Lo Will Smith Britney Spears and a host of other pop music A-listers. “I was a little overweight so my mom put me in gymnastics and dance classes when I was 3″ says Flood 33 who is featured in the new reality series “DanceLife” premiering Monday at 10:30 p. “The majority of my life has been spent inside of a dance studio. ” Co-executive produced by Jennifer Lopez the eight-episode documentary-style program follows the lives of six dancers over the course of six months.

For latecomers “Young Folks ” is the essential starting point. An irresistible hit single that hinges on an infectious whistle solo it has spawned a cute animated video (get thee to. com ) and as one snarky friend pointed out it sounds perfect for a Volvo commercial.

Heinrich watched Dance The Waves win the Group 3 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) from the Gold Coast where she was enjoying a career-best day. Heinrich won the $100000 Magic Millions Maiden Plate with Tour Guide a $210000 buy at last year’s sales and then took out the last race — the Waterford Crystal Magic Millions — with Spur Me n. Heinrich also paid $210000 for Dance The Waves when he was sold at Written Bloodstock’s dispersal sale last April After failing in his two runs under her care Heinrich tipped Dance The Waves out for a six-month spell and the break allowed her to work out the gelding. Stable spokesman Kim Loy said all credit for Dance The Waves’s string of successes — the Rubiton was his third consecutive win — went to Heinrich. "Gillian has done a fantastic job. He had a few little problems but Gillian has worked out the key to him" Loy said. "He’s an older horse and he had a few tricks.

Haverhill’s Thomas earns D-1 scholarship

For four years after standout cross country seasons she’s switched her emphasis to dance before turning her attention to spring track. Governor’s Academy doesn’t offer indoor track and Thomas has been dancing competitively since she was 3-years-old. “I liked having the winter season off from running” said Thomas who would still work out some with her club team The Lynx Elite. “It’s a nice break… “I went down there (Charlotte) for a visit and really liked the girls the coach (Rod Herbster) and the campus” said Thomas. “I think it’s a really good fit for me. “Although Thomas 17 admits that she’ll miss her dance season she believes that running year-round will help her improve – even if it is an adjustment. “Although I’ve kept training racing in the winter will be different” said Thomas who was a New England Prep cross country champion four straight times and undefeated in New England Prep races for her entire career. “The coach said I’ll probably redshirt for my first indoor season so it’s not so overwhelming. “Thomas was steered toward UNC Charlotte by Governor’s track coach Tim Weir who was a former assistant for the 49ers. It’s a school with a solid tradition in running.
