I don’t like hip hop; I don’t wear baggy clothes break dance or try to spin on my head. I come from a good family; I’m financially comfortable well educated without any of the obvious “ghetto” credentials – but I love graffiti. I suppose I’m a bit like Jekyll and Hyde in that sense. Since the late 1960s the United States has had an unbroken line of stars. Peggy Fleming gave way to Janet Lynn and Dorothy Hamill. After Hamill it was Linda Fratianne and Debi Thomas… In our mind we have great depth in all of our disciplines. “Belbin and Agosto are a personable attractive pair who finally ended the United States’ lympic medal drought in ice dancing with a silver in Turin. But the women have always driven the interest in figure skating. And right now nobody is creating much of a stir. Kimmie Meissner is the reigning world champion but she is far from a household name.
