Try something different and get an Easter Egg
Newsdurhamregion.com – Jan 29, 2007
An Easter Egg is as its name implies a hidden treat a surprise or bonus that is concealed within the guts of the game and is only revealed when or if a player reaches a certain success level or completes a series of difficult or unpredictable manoeuvres. For instance achieving the highest score in "Dorm Wars 2 – Panty Raid Madness" (a purely fictional game I assure you) might unlock and allow you to play as the hidden character Vic the Mute Janitor. r if you’re good enough or lucky enough to shoot all eight of Granny’s lunkhead cousins in "Inbred Farm" before they get to the livestock Granny might hike up her petticoat and break-dance on the front porch something she would never ordinarily do. You can imagine the remarkable entertainment value of these much sought after Easter Eggs. Slack-jawed 30-year-old couch potatoes the world over clap their pudgy calloused hands with delight and giggle themselves off their parents basement sofas every time something like this is unearthed. You might also be wondering about the intelligence quotients of the game programmers but that’s another column. I was thinking about these Easter Eggs and I began to wonder if the programmers or producers of other products in our lives might not have done something similar.

But that didn’t break his spirit. Nor did it seem to bother the crowd. The sports that show up at IIT didn’t let the artistes decide whether they have fun or not. That’s the first thing that strikes you about this Saarang’s first two pro-shows. The crowd knows how to have a good time… The man behind the band Srinivas Krishnan told the audience the Americans learnt Indian classical music just to put the whole show together in three months. The ensemble did not have a regular lead singer to carry the show and that was the biggest sore point of the evening. But when the girls came on stage to dance for “Shakalaka Baby” and “Dhol Dhol” the crowd joined the party. SUDHISH KAMATH Printer friendly.

comThe 2006-2007 USA Prowlers were voted third dance team in the nation at UDA Championship on Jan. The University of South Alabama dance team has much to be proud of these days. 12 they competed in the Universal Dance Association National Collegiate Championship in rlando Fla. The UDANCC consists of several different divisions of university dance teams. The USA dance team is division one and all participants had to send in a tape to qualify to be in the championship… The dance team has been working very hard and sacrificed a lot to go to the championship. They started practicing in ctober and practiced everyday for three weeks before the competition. While most students enjoyed a nice long Christmas holiday break the Prowlers only had one week off for Christmas. They did fundraisers such as bagging groceries and washing cars to raise the money to go to the competition and soon they will be selling dance team posters. The Prowlers went the extra mile to prepare for this important event. They stayed up late the night before to put the finishing touches on their purple Arabian themed costumes. “We glued rhinestones on our costumes the night before” Jenny verstreet said.

His eighth 3-pointer of the game came just 18 seconds later sparking a 10-0 run by the Bucs that dashed the Bisons come back hopes. Most remarkable about Pigram’s shot was Lipscomb leaving him wide open in the corner. In the first half Pigram powered the ETSU offensive attack early scoring 13 of the team’s first 15 points and helping the Bucs build a lead of 21-12 with 9:52 to go before the break. The nine-point cushion did not last long though as Lipscomb rallied with eight straight unanswered points to make it 21-20 with 8:24 remaining. ETSU responded outscoring the Bisons 12-3 the rest of the way to take a 33-23 halftime lead thanks to a bomb 3-pointer from Pigram with 38 seconds left. Pigram finished with 16 first-half points the Bucs out-rebounded Lipscomb 28-17 and held the Bisons to just 27 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes. In the second half ETSU built a lead of as many as 14 points but to Lipscomb’s credit the Bisons battled back to tie the game in the final four minutes.
