Saed Al Sughair vows to never work with Dina
Al-Bawaba – Feb 28, 2007
The production company Al Sabki will be producing the new film for Dina and the dancer had nominated folk singer Imad Ba’rour who is considered Saed’s rivalry but the company refused his nomination. ne of the disputes that had erupted between Dina and Saed was over the fact that both were placed under investigation by the Egyptian Actors Union due to accusation of Dina dancing in the streets and causing chaos to break out. The Egyptian Actor’s Association has questioned Dina for dancing in the streets at the premier of her new film “Alia Al Tarab Biltalata” which she starred in with Saed. The head of the Union claimed the inquiry was prompted by photographs of her dancing in an inappropriate manner in the street in front of the theatre resulting in chaos. The Union had asserted that this type of pubic display creates a bad image of actors and is an inappropriate way to promote a film. Dina denied dancing in the streets and that she was even present at the first screening of the film asserting that she did attend the second day of the film’s screening but did not dance in the streets.

n the road with East 17
Independent – Feb 28, 2007
In 1997 East 17 split following a wholly self-inflicted and explosive row over drugs and money. It was a controversy that kept the tabloid press in headlines for months and was even raised by John Major at Prime Minister’s Question Time. It remains one of the greatest break-ups in pop history. Then even the red-tops got bored. Today East 17 are the forgotten boys of modern pop culture. Brian Harvey Tony Mortimer John Hendy and Terry Coldwell have largely disappeared. They went solo but no one noticed… It’s gone midnight by the time Brian John and Terry emerge on stage at Essex University’s students’ union on the outskirts of Colchester to a barrage of shrieks screams and yes flying underwear. Dry ice fills the room music booms over the sound system and they launch into their opening number: an old favourite called “Steam”. A sell-out crowd of 1700 sweaty undergraduates have gathered to drink dance and (by way of a bonus) witness the latest episode in one of pop’s most colourful soap operas. East 17 give notice that they’re about to raise the roof with a signature tune: the Ivor Novello-winning Christmas classic “Stay Another Day”. That song was a belter. It beat Take That to the festive No 1 slot in 1994 and stayed there for seven weeks. Even now it’s one of the greatest ballads of its era.

Bob Sinclar is coming!
中åæ¥æ¥ – 中åæ¥æ¥ – Feb 28, 2007
Hong Kong will also be treated to a performance at Dragon-I. The tour follows the cancelled ctober spot and the rumor of New Year appearances. Bob Sinclar is arguably the most legendary DJ of the decade dominating both dance floors and the charts for the last seven years since his Champs Elysees album with such legendary tracks as “I Feel for You” and “You are Beautiful”. He’s since then played across the world but never before in Shanghai a city which is pretty much DJ obsessed and has hosted many of the rest of the world’s best. Bob who will be staying at Le Royal Meridien hotel comes to us as a gift from Solid Vodka as they kick off their 2007 party campaign. The purveyors of premium Polish goodness have a party program planned to top the last year in Shanghai and it’s pretty obvious they’re starting off on the right note. They focus on mainstream House music as music for the masses; pretty much like how Solid is vodka for the masses – how very Communist-friendly! The brand is undergoing somewhat of a relaunch with a new website on the way and an even more fun loving approach to life as well of course their DJ nights and parties – all the better for us the consumer I say.
