They reeled off threemore victories to win the league tournament and extend their nation-leading(and school-record) winning streak to 22 games. And their only three lossescame against teams you’ll see in the Big Dance. Does the relative weakness of C-USA competition diminish the talents ofcoach John Calipari’s Tigers? It’s sort of a tree-falling-in-the-woodsquestion isn’t it? You can’t fault a coaching staff for recruiting the bestplayers it can league rivals be damned. How exactly this group would farein the ACC SEC or Big East is a hypothetical weight no team should have tobear. Until March when the big boys become the competition… We need only look at the two Tiger squads that reached theFinal Four to pull the wool off the mythic importance of depth. The 1973Tigers had but two players that made any impact off the bench (Bill Cook andWes Westfall). As for the 1985 team it was so dominated by its magnificentstarting five that Willie Becton and Dwight Boyd would not so much as breaka sweat in some games. It’s not the number of players. It’s the playersstupid. The Tigers’ opening game will be Friday (11:30 am) in New rleans againstNorth Texas. Lovechild behind Durie’s move
NEWS.com.au – Mar 12, 2007
The man who has blitzed backyards skated on thin ice and is competing on Dancing With The Stars is currently negotiating with US networks to develop a new series The Victory Garden Show. He said yesterday one of his driving forces was to spend more time with Taylor his daughter who lives in Nevada. "I’m starting to film the US series during the Easter break so I’ll be putting some stuff in the can in the US and will spend some time with Taylor" he said. "I get to see her around every six to eight weeks which is part of the reason I am pushing the US career I guess. I had her when I was very young when I was in Vegas (with the Manpower male revue show he led). " Durie said he was too young to be a father when she was born but is now committed to growing a family… I had Taylor when I was probably too young and too busy. I don’t want to make that mistake again. " Durie who runs a thriving international landscape architectural firm is still taking his dancing responsibilities seriously taking dance partner Amanda Garner to New York over Easter so he can continue rehearsing. He also defected from Nine to Seven to develop a new series called Australia’s Best Backyard which will air later in the year. * CHANNEL 7 beat rival Channel 9 in the TV ratings war last week after Dancing With The Stars and Ugly Betty were the most watched shows. Three of the top five shows were on Seven with Nine securing only third and fifth spots with its CSI series. verall Seven had 30.

So I really got to respect Paul’s writing. And then I had optioned a book for Paul to write and thankfully we didn’t sell it. But in the meantime I sold the idea [for 'Prison Break'] to FX and said in the hallways of NBC or actually in the parking lot where the pitch didn’t go well for this other book. And I said ‘In case it doesn’t sell there’s this other project that I’d think you’d be great for. ‘ And immediately we talked about it and he fixed the things that were kind of wrong which was like he was like ‘Why would a guy do that?’ And he said ‘Unless they were brothers… But the good thing about television is that you know generally everyone turns in their scripts at the same time and they’ll basically tell you within three or four weeks ‘we’re shooting this next month’ or ‘it’s not happening. ‘ And so I was ready for that kind of feedback. I turned in the script. And Gail Berman was the president of FX at the time. She said ‘This is great. Provisionally we want to make it.
