Those with giant ailments dance for big Pepto relief
USA Today – Mar 19, 2007
The company also has worked with its ad agency Publicis New York to create a variety of TV commercials that play up its dance of discomfort. The first ad for regular Pepto-Bismol featured wriggling office workers. Subsequent ads have shown a basketball team break dancers — and even holiday elves — all doing the dance. An ad for Children’s Pepto featured a group of young ballerinas. Another for Pepto-Bismol Maximum Strength features a group of hulking monsters shaking their bodies. “Pepto Max has two times the active ingredients of regular Pepto” Klei says. “It delivers really big relief — and the giants came out of that.

Sydney Morning Herald – Mar 19, 2007
Performed by members of the Sydney Dance Company it is a moodyengrossing work. But it’s the second film in tonight’s double bill that uses allthe possibilities. Named best film at the New York Dance on CameraFestival Break is about a woman torn between leaving aviolent home and staying. Directed and choreographed by Shona McCullagh the film makesstages of a field a woolshed a stockyard a kitchen a desolateroad. A smudgy stop-start style is matched by adventurouschoreography and aerial effects that draw comparisons with the filmThe Matrix (only more haunting and much cheaper). Danceskill is still central though and here it’s the movements of ayoung boy (Arlo Gibson) that will lift and break hearts. [an error occurred while processing this directive].

Jin Xing from army colonel to revolutionary dance star
South Asian Women's Forum – Mar 19, 2007
People think that I’m a diva a big celebrity and that I have a pushy attitude but they meet me and realize I’m very simple. Diva or not one thing is certain — Jin is accustomed to fighting for and getting what she wants a trait she attributes to an iconoclastic mix of idealism pragmatism and sheer determination. “I’m a person who loves to challenge to break out of the box” Jin says her brown eyes cool and steady… Candid funny but somewhat remote Jin is above all serious about modern dance an art form she has helped advance in artistically conservative China and one that has helped make sense of the darker moments. “So many things that cannot be or where one cannot find a way dancing helps. It balances me” she says. Born into an ethnic Korean family in northeast China Jin whose name in Chinese means “golden star” discovered her passion for the stage early peforming in kindergarten before being chosen to attend Liaoning’s People Liberation Army Song and Dance Academy. Her father an officer in the PLA was firmly opposed to the move regarding it as “too sissy” but gave in when Jin then nine proved her commitment with a two-day hunger strike. “I was very stubborn and at a young age I was already quite a demanding person” she concedes.

Is “Grease” the Word?: Week 10 Recap
PlaybillArts – PlaybillArts – Mar 19, 2007
Not to be outdone Austin showed us he’s also got a flexible gam. The guys began the song and then the girls totally out of breath were forced to sing after an energetic dance break. Why is that always the case with ladies? Lola has to do it in Damn Yankees (dance break then “I always ge-e-e-e-e-e-et!!!!”) Cassie has to do it A Chorus Line (Dance break then “Pla-a-a-a-a-ay me the music”) Then again women get juicy roles like Elphaba and Mame and we’re stuck playing Magaldi and Frid. Denise Van uten was wearing a pretty dress but upon closer inspection seemed to made of crepe paper. Isn’t that a fire hazard? The final two Sandys Ashley and Laura were chosen and Allie was told that she’s leaving. In a brilliant example of playing against your subtext Allie said “It’s a big letdown” with an enormous smile on her face.
