NEWS.com.au – Mar 21, 2007
Mills’ debut on Dancing with the Stars attracted the huge viewing audience. A visibly tense Mills foxtrotted on the dance floor without stumbling or worse as the U. television dance contest kicked off its fourth edition. The heartthrob’s second album "21" came out right after Christmas and it too is a winner; "Icebox" is one of the catchiest singles of the last year thanks to Timbaland’s gifted touch. Tonight marion teams at Love with his good friend "You Got Served" co-star and fellow ex-boy-band member Marques Houston formerly of Immature. Despite two solo discs and a couple of guest appearances (most notably on Fiddy’s "Candy Shop" remix) Houston’s still waiting to break out. “So it was a whole heap of fun to let go of that it was liberating even. “It was good to show people my fun side and great for me to get to ham it up for the cameras. “A winner of a record 16 Grand Slam doubles titles Woodbridge said he had been taught to show no weakness in his almost 20 years on the professional circuit. But during the show his enjoyment became his achilles heel with judges criticising his lack of masculinity and intensity. He said he was happy for the chance to show Australia what he looks like “minus the cold stare” that comes with competition. “Doing this show was as hard as anything I’ve ever done” he said. “It’s a full-time commitment seven days a week with five to six hours a day on the dance floor… With the lowest score of the series but clearly a strong following from the audience at home which accounts for half the contestants’ scores farmer David Campbell scored 10 points the lowest score of the season to join Woodbridge in the bottom two. Woodbridge said he will now take a month’s break with his family before he goes to London to prepare for his Wimbledon commentary duties. Tuesday night’s episode of Dancing With The Stars was another ratings winner for the Seven Network with an average audience of 1. 7 million viewers combating stiff competition from rivals channels Nine and Ten.
