CMld-time rock ’n’ roll will fill the ballroom at Ace’s during the 14th annual Rock ’n’ Roll ldies Spring Break Dance Party beginning at 8 p. Two outstanding oldies bands will perform music spanning the 1960s to the ’80s and will entertain until after midnight. Ron Piljay event coordinator said proceeds will benefit radio station WKYE-FM’s “12 Wishes of Christmas.

“There was nothing that inspired me particularly in these two works; basically this is what I have been doing all the while. ur exposure in Malaysia to contemporary dance and to a wide range of other dances has helped us to view Indian classical dance from a different angle. “For instance a lot of things in traditional dance come in symmetry we kind of break out of that but we do it within the genre. Living in Malaysia has opened possibilities in re-interpreting classical idioms. To be able to experiment with that has been very refreshing” Shankar says. There are seven categories under the dance bill for this year’s Boh Cameronian Awards. Each category will net a RM1000 cash prize and a trophy.

Anything rousing a good dance tune. 2 happened to be Roland’s birthday which didn’t escape the notice of the dance hall’s community. Just before the band’s break they broke into an upbeat "Happy Birthday" and Roland was presented with his very own cake topped by a candle shaped like a question mark. He laughs when he’s asked his age but confesses he is 83 years old. While the band takes its break dancers spill into the kitchen to enjoy the treats they brought to share. Pat who withheld her last name glides into the room humming along with the radio music.
