He performed a break dance in front of the crowd before throwing his racket into the stands and falling to the ground. “I don’t know what I did I just couldn’t believe that I was able to win it” a beaming Stepanek told reporters. “I felt a release in the body and then I just fell down. “It is an incredible feeling. At one point I was scared I was not going to play tennis any more.
Congress hits back at CPI (M)
Hindu – Jul 24, 2007
The leaders have taken particular exception to CPI (M) state secretary B. Raghavulu’s comment over the ruling party’s internal affairs and his remark that the Congress leaders were performing ‘break dance’ and ‘Bharatanatyam’. Maintaining that Mr. Raghavulu’s “misinformation campaign” had gone out of proportions Pradesh Congress Committee executive member Kolanukonda Shivaji on Monday appealed to CPI (M) leader to offer constructive suggestions to the Government rather than seeking to tarnish its image. Shivaji said it was the CPI (M) that had started a “near militant struggle” under the veil of a democratic agitation ostentatiously for distribution of house sites for the poor people.

Cox Smoltz pay respect to Bonds
MLB.com – Jul 24, 2007
“It’s a landmark” Cox said after ageless John Smoltz throttled Bonds and the Giants 4-2 on Monday night. “He’s going to break it and he’s going to now become the all-time home run leader. You’ve got to be good to do that. And he’s really been the best ballplayer in the league for years. Like so many who have been asked in recent days whether the record will be tainted because of allegations that Bonds used performance-enhancing drugs during the latter phase of his career Cox was pretty succinct… Not so on Monday night in the Smoltz-Bonds confrontations. The three encounters lasted a total of 16 pitches. During Bonds’ third plate appearance to open up the sixth inning Smoltz threw a 1-1 slider inside and low toward the left-handed batter’s knees making him bend and dance away. After Bonds grounded out on the seventh pitch he came across the diamond in front of the mound on his way back to the dugout and said something to Smoltz who laughed put his glove toward his face and responded. The moment was a glimpse at two athletes with 41 combined big-league seasons still trying to cheat time. “Well I can’t divulge what he was saying but we have a lot respect for each other across the field” Smoltz said. “We’ve battled for so long I think the history speaks for itself.
Remembering Aaron
San Francisco Chronicle – Jul 24, 2007
He operated like a fine piano tuner or diamond cutter his every move the essence of precision and professionalism. Jack and I loved that about Aaron. We preferred Aaron’s cool jazz to Mays’ sumptuous dance or Roberto Clemente’s prideful virtuosity. “See Hank?” That’s what we said to each other each morning making sure the other guy saw the Milwaukee Braves’ box score. n a good day — so many days — Aaron’s line went something like 4223. This went on for many years through our time in junior high and high school and the last thing we ever thought about Aaron was that he’d be some sort of historic power hitter. He wasn’t a true slugger at all rather a line-drive hitter with a flat even stroke all wrists designed to strike laser beams not towering drives… Hell any old fan could jump on the Aaron bandwagon now and many did. By 1974 when he finally took down Ruth his hitting style was as magnificent as ever — he’d added just a touch of uppercut to that original swing — but we missed the old Hank performing every imaginable skill at the highest level. I don’t mind seeing Barry Bonds break Aaron’s record because Bonds has always been a power hitter plain and simple and in that regard he’s the best I’ve ever seen. He can go ahead and take the big saxophone solo in my band the one that gets everyone out of their seat. I’ve got Aaron on piano indispensable the essence of class. For all of us who remember his best years his legacy stands unblemished. Posted By: Bruce Jenkins (.
