How Pasuma motola others dazzled at âËCelebrity Takes 2â¢
Vanguard – Oct 20, 2007
bviously he had an outstanding instructor! motola ‘mosexy’ Jalade-Ekeinde was another star of the evening who benefited tremendously from having a good dance instructor. For their dance she and Buddy Ageda chose a fast-paced cheerful dance using steps typical of the hip hop movement and the catchy rhythm of a techno song to entertain the ecstatic audience. From the opening ‘moonwalk’ slide showing fantastic footwork to the crisp articulation of his break dance moves Buddy outshone motola who capitalised on the danceability of their song to maintain an interactive flow with her partner. Though most of her moves were out of synchrony with the music and appeared to be initiated by her partner motola’s earnestness her self-expression and the vibrancy of her dance made their performance most refreshing. Fashion designer Zizi Cardow and her partner Ice were more intense. Theirs was a passionate ballroom dance. Zizi was dressed in a black-tie affair dazzling gown with a sequined bodice.
England v South Africa as it happened
BBC News – Oct 20, 2007
37 mins: The 5m scrum is reset four times before South Africa manage to turn it through the 90 and get the put-in. That could be absolutely pivotal. 35 mins: A fantastic break from Francois Steyn sees him dance in and around England’s midfield to get South Africa on the front foot. JP Pietersen takes it on before the front row get involved in their own rather more muscular way. South Africa swing it wide to the left flank but Paul Sackey comes in off his wing to make a vital tackle on Steyn again. Still South Africa go for the line with John Smit stopped two yards short. It’s all hands to the pump for England and there are roars of delight from the men in white as the ball is just knocked slightly forward by a Springbok hand to give them the put-in at a 5m scrum.

n the down low

Rapper Prokid busted some serious rhymes in Port Elizabeth at the MetroFm Music Awards’ public launch. His aim on stage was ‘to move not to sweat’. He had the crowd – including a trio of tweens who put on a sweet dance display – eating out of the palm of his hands. Hip-hop band Jozi apparently stole the show from Skwatta Kamp at the last Edgars Music Series. The Motherland crunkers had a posse of three male dancers – all funky and phly in old- school gear and moving like they were born to do it – alongside Jozi’s Bongani Fassie and Des Les who by the way is now styling himself like Pharrel Williams. Also I have seen HHP on stage more times than I can count and he always brings the house down with or without a band. This is because he believes the key to awesome shows is having tons of fun on stage… Then there are the guilty pleasures. They are people I should not watch but do anyway because they are ‘interesting’ acts: Chomee Kelly and Somizi who work on their stage act perform in colourful and interesting outfits and are generally entertaining on stage. But every gig needs an act that gives revellers a break. So go socialise or top up your drink when Khanyi Mbau gets on stage. She had as much stage presence as a piece of chalk at the SABC1 EMS launch party. Miss Thing literally fumbled her way through a song that was so similar to Lebo’s Awu Dede I call her version Awu Bede. She says that she is not going to stop singing no matter who says what.
Cuban: Wouldn’t do Nowitzki-for-Kobe
San Diego Union Tribune – Oct 20, 2007
”“I still haven't talked to (Lakers owner) Jerry Buss” Cuban told the newspaper. “So until that happens nothing can happen. ”The Mavericks were an NBA-best 67-15 last season but were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Golden State. Still Cuban has pretty much kept the roster intact.
ne step at a time

While many highlight these hardships a few take them in their stride. ne example is Mini Mathur who moved from one metro to another. She worked her way to fame climbing one step at a time. As she entered Mumbai from Delhi it was a different experience she hardly knew anyone… ” In “Jhalak…” she is amidst many friends. With whom does she enjoy the best rapport on the show? “Cyrus mostly because of our MTV days. Since this is my first time on the dance floor beginners’ luck might work for me” she says with a laugh.
