Alverta gives Takeover Target a scare in thriller
NEWS.com.au – Dec 23, 2007
Takeover Target was sent out $1. 95 favourite for his anticipated rematch with another glamour sprinter Dance Hero in the Listed $100000 Razor Sharp Quality (1200m). The so-called match race looked to be going to script when Takeover Target seemed to break Dance Hero’s heart to dash clear halfway down the straight. Just as the huge crowd began to cheer for racing’s cult hero Alverta came from last with an amazing burst to almost snatch an improbable win. "One more stride and she wins the race" Alverta’s jockey Glyn Schofield said. Alverta’s owner John Messara said the mare simply gave away too much start. "She’s made up eight to 10 lengths on Takeover Target from the turn" Messara said.

He may not have the moves of Michael Jackson but eight-year-old Ryan D’Haese was awestruck by the entertaining moves of the cop. “He is cool” D’Haese said as he watched Smithman strut and moonwalk on a outdoor mini-stage near the mall’s food court. Ryan’s mom Dawn D’Haese said her son wanted to learn how the dancing cop executes his moves. People taking a break from last-minute shopping in the mall’s food court were glued to the window watching Smithman bust a move while stopping one set of vehicles and getting another to move forward.

‘Dark hour for school’ director says
Toronto Star – Dec 23, 2007
But there are some things you just can’t control unless you are prepared to run a school as if it were a prison. " Philanthropists Jim and Sandra Pitblado ? who took their grandchildren to yesterday’s Nutcracker matinee ? said that the school has been recognized as the best in its field for almost half a century. "This is an incredibly important and valuable institution recognized by everyone in the dance world" Sandra Pitblado said. "If there’s one bad apple in the mix that’s sad but it has to be kept in perspective. " "It’s a dark hour for the school" Staines added. With one game left Pats finally focus on 16-0 – NFL
ESPN – Dec 23, 2007
Then again it’s a pretty monumental next game even by Patriots standards and more than simply because it’s the next entry on the dance card. Winners of 18 straight regular-season contests (dating to December 2006) and having gone undefeated in the division for the first time in franchise history the Pats haven’t permitted themselves the luxury of looking down the road too far. But until the playoffs begin when New England will be gunning for a fourth Super Bowl championship in seven years the date with the Giants and likely with destiny is as far ahead as they can see. Although they see a Giants team that on Sunday afternoon secured an NFC wild-card berth with a win in Buffalo and which owns one of the NFL’s best pass rushes they also aren’t blind to the big picture. And it’s picture-perfect… But the smart money says Brady will play against the Giants and will remain in the game long enough to secure the undefeated season and probably to break. “We’ll do what’s best for our football team [the] same as always.

Caroling is one of the oldest Christmas customs. The word “carol” comes from the French “carole” which means a song that accompanies a dance. In medieval times carolers would form a circle and dance singing songs. Carols will be around this year as well but some enthusiasts are surely going to make Christmas different with the same carols. While thousands of carol singers across the U. burst into song in a bid to break a world record in the Big Christmas Carol event organized by BBC Radio Oxford singers from National School recently performed carols at The George Shopping Center in Grantham to raise money for a hospice… While thousands of carol singers across the U. burst into song in a bid to break a world record in the Big Christmas Carol event organized by BBC Radio Oxford singers from National School recently performed carols at The George Shopping Center in Grantham to raise money for a hospice.
