The hardest night of their lives

The whole company was singing the song at the top of their voices. I would stand in the middle and shout it out and the whole company would repeat it back with clapping effects as well. “The officers and NCOs stood on the sidelines smiling at the soldiers many of them just 18 as they took turns to rap and break-dance to the crowd. “I was the party pooper who had to tell them to get their kit sorted and do a last-minute check on them” says Lockett 27. “I checked the numbers. Suddenly the mood was very quiet and battle discipline was at a maximum. As we left camp I shouted ‘You all right lads everything all right? Happy days.

She continues “My steps have been sensual but never vulgar. I have trained under Master Sohan Lal who gave us one of the best choreographed songs ever the teasing ‘Hontho Pe Aisi Baat’ (“Jewel Thief”). ”“In fact my first break as a choreographer came when Sadhana decided to direct her home production “Geeta Mera Naam”. She refused to work with anybody else. ” But Madhuri Dixit didn’t seem as indulgent as in “Aaja Nachle” she worked with Vaibhavi Merchant. Saroj isn’t feeling bitter. “She didn’t produce the film… On her part Madhuri trusted me fully. She never said this step won’t work with my image be it ‘Dhak Dhak’ or ‘Mera Piya Ghar Aya’. ” On male actors taking dance very seriously Saroj says this has made the job of choreographers very easy. “Earlier half of the energy was used on teaching the likes of Anil Kapoor how to shake a leg” she quips. Coming back to her television show Saroj who has just been nominated for the best choreographer for the Screen-Star awards is not promising to teach classical dance steps. “It’s purely Bollywood dance where I would try telling people to shed their inhibitions as I feel anybody can dance. There are people who can move their hands and abdomen but their feet refuse to move.

‘Nure replied a little over ten minutes later when the Leinster-capped McAllister who started at full-back owing to former captain Shane Cullen’s inclusion at number 10 knocked over a penalty. Cullen moved the home back-line well through this encounter and after Power and McAllister had traded further kicks – a drop goal and penalty respectively – Terenure began to gain momentum. A surging break involving Niall McCann Kevin O’Dwyer skipper Stephen Nolan and Bertrand Guiry showed what the Dubliners are capable of and they broke the try deadlock moments later when a big drive ended with lock Darren Egan getting over. McAllister tagged on the extras and also notched a third penalty as ‘Nure ended the first half on the up. But ‘Stones bounced back in the final quarter. After a great spell of pressure a ‘Nure error saw Guiry slip as he attempted to win a lineout which allowed the visitors to get back on the front foot. Willis had a hand in the clinching try for McKechnie as he made the initial break that led to the experienced full-back’s third and undoubtedly most important try of the league campaign to date.
