AllAfrica.com – Feb 21, 2008
Sanyu FM goes by the slogan Today’s best music. They don’t play a lot of indigenous rap music yet their target audience is the urban Ugandan including the youth. The youth are fans of rap music around the world because of the lifestyle it embraces: break-dance the American accent and youth fashion of sneakers and jeans. Timothy Lwanga Sanyu FM’s Music Director told The Weekly Observer: "From our research domestic rap is always scoring close to zero. We play what the listeners want. " GA_googleFillSlot(“AllAfrica_Story_RightE”);Lwanga added: "Some rappers’ music we play definitely say Klear Kut but most rappers don’t have quality music that can be played on Sanyu. "He said most rappers sing hardcore style that is too loud and non-mellow for listeners.

Make or Break Debate Showdown for Clinton and Obama; Senator McCain…
CNN International – Feb 21, 2008
I think he’s going to take his time about coming to an agreement because every day that he delays in making a decision it’s another million dollars in the bank. DOBBS: I love this is time for a change Miguel but it sounds to me like it’s politics as usual. Isn’t this stuff we’re kind of used to? MIGUEL PEREZ SYNDICATED COLUMNIST: You expect politicians to break the pledge after they become elected not before. DOBBS: Well he went and made a big mistake. He made a pledge that could be enforced or broken before. What do you expect to happen Ken? VOGEL: Well the goal of the Clinton campaign is to kind of chip away as some of the veneer that Obama has established as the candidate of sort of authenticity and inspiration and that’s one of the ways they’ll do it. They’ll present him as sort of a brilliant rhetorician but having little else… Look I think a lot of this – and we’ve underestimated up until now gets to the mechanics because I think you are right. On many issues they’re really very close but the mechanics of how you pull this off I think they’re going to be really important. I mean when Obama was talking before a crowd in Houston the other night he explained the complicated dance that Texas voter haves to go through in the primary. They have to vote first. DOBBS: Who’s better organized in Texas? LOUIS: Well he’s proved that he’s better organized everywhere. I mean the Clinton campaign says they have half of the 8000 precincts the’yve found about 4000 or so precinct captains. That is not going to cut it.

Penn Staters prepare for dance marathon
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette – Pittsburgh Post Gazette – Feb 21, 2008
Wancheck a Thomas Jefferson High School graduate is getting ready for THON Penn State University’s annual 46-hour dancefest to raise money for cancer charities. Penn State Greater Allegheny in McKeesport will send four students to dance and another group of around 45 to lend moral support at the State College campus’ Bryce Jordan Center tomorrow. “Dancers don’t have to dance all 46 hours they just have to keep standing on their feet” said Erin O’Malley Greater Allegheny’s student activities coordinator. Wancheck a junior who will partner with Erica Sanchez of Los Angeles is no stranger to THON. He participated last year as a “moraler” one of the literally screaming throngs whose job it is to keep the dancers awake and stepping lively. “There’s about 45 of us but only two are on the floor at a time” said Miss O’Malley… His high-ankle basketball shoes of course are red. The dancers are also well-fed with tables of high-carb foods available. And if there’s a need for a bathroom break well nobody is setting the stopwatch. “If you’ve got to go you’ve got to go” said Miss O’Malley. Last year PSU Greater Allegheny raised $10600 through THON plus coin collections or “canning” and other community events. In the big picture Penn State students are hoping to pass last year’s record-breaking total of $5. 2 million which is believed to establish PSU as one of the world’s largest student-run philanthropies.
