YMCA Inspires Teens Through Break Dance

Even NY1?s Roger Clark busted some moves while filing the following report. Johnny Figueroa is the center of attention as he shows off break dancing moves at the YMCA in Flushing Queens. “I like the way it works out my body it feels mad good I just have a lot of fun with it” says Figueroa. He is part of the YMCA?s Teen Center program which creates gathering places for young people across the city.

“The dancer apparently had the details down to come in second to Joshua Allen this summer. That carried no prize other than the title of runner-up but he said he “absolutely” keeps in touch with the other dancers from the reality TV show. A dance instructor before the summer show Twitch said “I just love to do that. ” He is still teaching along with trying to break into acting in TV movies and theater — “all of the above” — and readying a sitcom to be pitched to the networks this winter. Agreeing that the success of “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing With the Stars” has created a kind of dance resurgence Twitch said “I just hope it lasts and doesn’t crash too hard. “Vision a Toledo resident also known as Paul Vision Lee designed Twitch’s T-shirts and along with Mikey T joined up to give classes in Columbus Bowling Green and other cities in hio. Richland Academy dance department director Shellie Gorman heard the group was available and was pleased the details could be worked out to bring them to Mansfield.
