‘Dancing With the Stars’ results: Par for the course?
Los Angeles Times
I was getting antsy to find out whom they were going to eliminate. But first: A performance by the Irish outfit Celtic Woman who sang a rousing performance of ?You Raise Me Up? while dancer Eric Luna proceeded to bench-press partner Georgia Ambarian into various lifts and positions. And all that lifting was impressive bordering on ridiculous especially at one point where she seemed to be break dancing on his back and then when she ended up standing on his chest. By this point it?s 9:53 p. and I?m rocking back and forth and wondering if all this filler will force the show to pull an "American Idol" and go over its allotted time. We still have four couples left whose fates have yet to determined people! But then they break to commercial.

So we took a few months off then met up and started to find a new way of playing. We wanted to do what we’d done for the first record: exist as a new band for a year and play the new songs at small shows then release the record. During the same time debate swirled within the senate over the producton of a $1400 dance April 30 which will serve a limited number of students and whether or not spending that much money is fiscally responsible during such hard economic times. With Spring Break and the election campaigns the last two weeks many senators did not think there was enough time to fully publicize the event which would cause a lack of student involvement in the dance and a waste of money. “I understand how people would be okay with [the dance] but we haven’t publicized it” said Peter Cornett president-elect. “During this budget crisis $1. 4 thousand for a dance is a lot of money. “According to Robin Kim vice president and chairman of the programming committee – which oversees the creation of such events – the bulk of the money is going to a disc jockey and a dance floor.
