Dua recruited about nine friends to serve as trainers and to lead participants in the 6-minute dance routine. The event was thoroughly documented to Guinness specifications including numerous still photos and video from multiple angles so “they were officially able to examine whether everyone was performing the entire dance routine correctly. “Except for the group leaders all dancers learned their steps in about two hours Dua said. Dua an Alexandria Virginia native who is graduating this weekend with a history degree said the best part of the event was that it gave a diverse group of people — most of them weren’t even born when “Thriller” debuted — the opportunity to share an experience and have some fun.

Jillian Harris will have to meet 30 of them in the premiere and dismiss 10 of them by the end of the two hour premiere. It’s a little head spinning for her especially since they all pretty much look alike. But one is a foot fetishist another is a country singer who has had success in Tijuana a third is a break dance instructor. More than a few are a little too desperate to fall in love (do they know there are other women in the world?). There is a different dynamic among the group of guys then there is when women are gathered. There is a jocularity among them and a sense of competition that trumps the individual thoughts of love. Mostly the whole thing seems so dictated by ritual there’s little room for surprise.

” They marveled at his defiance — and the unnerving beauty of his limbs — as he strode after the soaring sculpted Freeze. They gasped at Frye’s strength when Freeze flew across the stage and landed in her outstretched arms. People didn’t want to leave the theater didn’t want to break the spell. Many seemed as perplexed as they were moved. Many struggled to figure out exactly what they were feeling. Exhausted and exhilarated the dancers struggled too. All their work all their faith all their pain had amounted to this singular triumph on stage.
