“It gave me something to do. ” He was a middle school student at Rishel on Tejon and Alaska. He says he and his friends became “B-boys” and performed impromptu break dance shows on the cafeteria floor at lunchtime. About two decades later Archuleta is back in the Rishel cafeteria teaching kids the moves that kept him out of trouble. He works for the FRESH after-school program standing for Fresh Respect Everyone’s Success through Hip hop. Archuleta teaches young teens to battle others with dancing skill instead of with their fists.

This year we are treated to a dance-off between Break Dance Teacher Michael and Fitness Model Greg. Santos 19 had moved between Durango Mex. and Summit County a few times and found that he wouldn’t have enough credits to graduate in a reasonable time frame. He plans to open a dance studio — perhaps in Frisco — where he’ll teach people how to break dance. Eventually he’d like to have a chain of the studios in Denver and elsewhere. Santos has been helping friends and family hone their moves for two-and-a-half years and enjoys “getting people to know they can do it. ”“I love to dance” he said adding that it caused him to miss class time when he was at SHS. He’s been break dancing since he was 11 years old and his best moves include windmills.

It seems that UCNN and South Florida found themselves in a 5-hour rain delay (even though it doesn’t seem to be raining in the video) so they did what anyone with 5 hours to kill would do. DANCE FF!Yes they got down with break dance moves that would impress MC Hammer and South Florida even threw in a little West Side Story too. Hey beats chewing sunflower seeds for hours on end. By the way remember how I said this would only happen once in a million baseball games? Well I lied. It happened last year too.
