Wake up and listen!” I really doubt that Nigel is a homophobe because those types of people can?t even think about watching a man dance in any way shape or form never mind watching a same-sex couple. So I say give the guy a break will you? He didn?t mean anything by it. The second episode kicked off with auditions in Miami Florida. Tyce was on his game tonight and he was hysterical! There were more bad performances than good ones (that we were able to see) so there were only four stand-outs for me and they were Priscilla Marrero Janette Manrara and her partner Romulo Villaverde and Erik (Silky) Moore. Then it was off to Memphis Tennessee for more auditions which started off pretty bad (whether one has Back Street Boy genes or not). I am really trying in the early stages of auditions to not get too negative about any of the contestants.

Colorado Music Studios 3470 W. James Stowell president of the Pikes Peak Chapterof USA Dance never thought the Denver Nuggets could threaten hisgroup’s first-ever Dancing with Colorado’s Stars event. SureJessica Villa one of the Nuggets’ dancers was scheduled to compete asa celebrity and the fundraiser was to be held during the height of thebasketball playoffs. But the Nuggets hadn’t played in a conferencefinal for 24 years so it seemed safe to assume that by the end of Maythey’d be enjoying their usual early summer break. Then Denver won its first playoff series.

It seemed unfair that the least accomplished musicians should be telling the most accomplished ones what to do. It made Goodman a frustrated restless and often prickly employee. If any of this was to change someone would have to break the model of those dreadful “sweet” dance bands. By 1934 Goodman decided that maybe it could be him. That summer he put together his first big band and by December it had become one of three selected by NBC to play on its new weekly Let’s Dance program. In this three-hour Saturday-night bash Goodman’s swing music rotated with the waltzes of Kel Murray and the rumbas of Xavier Cugat. But Let’s Dance would be Goodman’s first national exposure and he came at America like a missile.
