‘The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All’ Recap: Wes Is a No-Show But …
FXNews
The episode ended with a montage of Tanner P. ranting about Jillian’s feet. “I may not be able to play the guitar” he said. “I may not be able to break-dance. But Daddy can suck a mean foot. ” As Jillian had put it earlier in the show “There’s some woman out there with incredible feet who’s going to make him happy. ” Reality Bites Travis Wall a fan favorite from the second season of “So You Think You Can Dance” returned to choreograph a contemporary number for Jeanine and Jason that was this week’s highlight—unless you count the sight of Evan’s tribal skirt and pasty bare chest in the guys’ African group dance.

New on DVD: ‘Watchmen’ in Blu-ray truly has something extra
Baltimore Sun
(Warner)”Ballerina”: Though Bertrand Normand’s documentary sports the production values of a state park’s visitor center video this study of five dancers from St. Petersburg’s Kirov Ballet Company is still valuable for its rare look inside aworld of intense discipline deprivation and disappointment. Normand shows the casual cruelty of dance instructors as they run their charges through a combine that reduces them to their bodies alone not their personalities. “Ballerina’s” lone DVD extra is a set of still photos but the movie itself remains a must for devotees of dance. The longer Coraline lives in the other world the more she sees its dark side.

Yankees Red Sox all tied up … Get used to it
New York Daily News
Get used to itJuly 20 2009 So the Yankees are back in first place. Get ready to dance this dance all summer long. A four-game winning streak for the Yankees and a three-game losing streak for the Red Sox have the two teams back in a first-place tie and it wouldn’t surprise me to see them trade this spot back and forth several times over the next two-plus months en route to ctober. Those pesky Rays (4 games out) will have their say too but in the end I fully expect both New York and Boston to emerge from the pack and into the postseason. The biggest thing will be who wins the division – which will determine who gets the Angels and who gets the AL Central winner. The Yankees would obviously prefer to get the Central team since Angel Stadium is just about their least-favorite place in the world to play.

Break dance crew to open hip-hop studio
Medicine Hat News
The dance crew was not only successful in its application to perform at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede they’re using the occasion to showcase some of the dance styles they plan to offer when they open Canada’s first exclusively hip hop studio this fall. J-FISH general manager Kurtis Albers says the community has embraced the local dancers and their efforts to educate the public about an often misunderstood culture. Hatters have packed the Esplanade theatre for the annual Hat Trick dance competition which features performers from around North America and supported demonstration shows at recent events like Redcliff Days and the Bow Island Children’s Festival. Albers has gone from teaching a handful of kids in a gymnasium to putting more than 1000 through the program and bringing the best in as part of the crew.

Michael Jackson in motion.
New Yorker
He dives into a step more intently and shows it to us more precisely than anyone else. Around this time the videos are featuring some new moves—for example multiple spins (which seem at times to have received technical assistance). And he’s now doing the famous moonwalk which he picked up from break dancing. He has also started doing some rather dirty moves notably the crotch-grab which will endure with striking embellishments throughout his career. The “Thriller”-period videos were instrumental in converting MTV from a backwater to a sensation. Jackson consciously aimed at doing that. “I wanted to be a pioneer in this relatively new medium” he said in his 1988 memoir “Moon Walk” (a book incidentally edited by Jacqueline nassis).
